AIMS & SCOPE

Earth Sciences Malaysia (ESMY)

Aims & Scope

Earth Science Malaysia (ESMY) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary research in Earth sciences. The Journal publishes original research articles, reviews, mini-reviews, and commentaries, with a focus on high-quality, rigorously reviewed work that ensures broad visibility and timely publication. While highlighting significant scientific achievements by Malaysian researchers, ESMY also actively encourages international submissions, particularly studies addressing global challenges and research relevant to Southeast Asia. Its scope covers a wide range of fields, including physical geography, geology, geophysics, atmospheric and planetary sciences, ecology, and environmental studies, providing a platform for innovative ideas and international collaboration. Topics include:

  • Physical Geography & Environmental Sciences: geomorphology, soil studies, hydrology, meteorology, climatology, biogeography, ecology, oceanography, limnology, and glaciology.
  • Geology & Related Fields: geology, mineralogy and petrology, geochemistry, paleontology, stratigraphy, structural geology, engineering geology, sedimentology, crustal geology, and edaphology/pedology.
  • Geophysics & Earth Processes: seismic activity, geodesy, gravity, heat flow, vibrations, electricity, electromagnetic waves, magnetism, radioactivity, fluid dynamics, and mineral physics.
  • Planetary & Atmospheric Sciences: atmospheric sciences, atmospheric chemistry, atmospheric physics, magnetosphere, and space probes.
  • Earth’s Structure & Dynamics: regions of the Earth, its size and form, and the structure of the Earth’s interior.
